Literature Text

My cousin's house was as big as I remembered it. It was literally a mansion, with eight bedrooms in it, and they were heavily and luxuriously furnished, but you could still tell that the house was full of young adults. Electronic devices were scattered everywhere. Cups and plates were all over the tables, and all the cups were stained red. Maybe that was what fermented fruit pouch looked and smelled like? Whatever it was, it was nasty, and I decided that I would wake up early tomorrow to clean it all up.
They led me to my room. The room seemed to carry a theme to it. Everything was made of plush red velvet and black leather, though that seemed like a weird combination to me, but the bed was nice and soft. I sat on the side of it as my cousins left, all except for Denisa. She was very attached to me even though I hadn't seen her a lot. She settled in on my lap, and I held her close to me.
"Do you miss them, Vincent?" She whispered, and I nodded, tears threatening. I hated being so weak in front of people, but I felt comfortable with Den. She was practically my baby. I sobbed for a while into the night, and she stayed with me holding me until she eventually spoke.
"Look at me, Vin." She said, and I did, straight in those icy blue eyes. "You need to sleep now." And I didn't remember anything after that.
Poor Vincent misses his parents. It's hard to adjust to a new country that doesn't speak your language.
